This year I am teaching Advisory, Math and Science to the 9A students and I will also teach an option class. Additionally, I am the school Instructional Coach so I have a variety or roles within our school such as designing professional learning opportunities and collaborating with colleagues to build excellent learning environments. I am looking forward to a fabulous year.
I have been teaching at ELJHS for 22 years. I enjoy being a teacher because we touch lives--we have great influence on the future of our planet. Our hopes and dreams lie with our children.
I believe that all students can learn. Belief in your abilities and the pursuit of excellence are necessary keys to success. Together we work to maximize our potential which allows us to be productive and compassionate human beings.
I grew up in a tight knit family on a farm in north-eastern Alberta. I met my husband when I was in high school—we have been married for 25 years. I have one son—his name is Aidan and he is a great joy in my life. Sports, outdoor pursuits and travelling have played very important roles in shaping who I am today. I also love animals! Living on an acreage allows me to retain my farming roots—I enjoy the solitude of country life as well as the companionship of my horses and cats.
